Arched, straight-wall or gable: choosing a greenhouse shape
How roof profile affects growing space, headroom, ventilation and price — and which of our models fits each need.

The shape of a greenhouse decides how much of its floor you can really use, how it handles weather, and what it costs.
Arched tunnels
A continuous curve from ground to ground is the most material-efficient shape, which is why arched tunnels give the most floor area for the money. Headroom is best down the centre path and lower at the edges, so they suit low beds along the sides and tall crops in the middle.
Straight-wall arches
Vertical side walls topped by an arched roof keep full height right to the edges. That makes room for staging, shelving and tall plants along the walls.
Traditional gable
A peaked roof on straight walls is the classic look. It suits staging on both sides and fits naturally into a planted garden.
